Whilst all of our hookbaits and loosefeed will catch catfish (wels / silurus / siluria and more exotic species such as Amazon red tail catfish, Mekong catfish, chao phraya and wallago leeri catfish – stocked in many Thai fishing resorts, as well as their native waters), some (such as Catfish Pro) have been specifically created to target big catfish, whilst others have proven themselves in testing and through anglers’ catches to be our best baits for catfish. Catfish angling is growing exponentially in popularity, as more and more venues stock cats, making them more accessible than ever before, to all anglers. Wels can be caught on a wide variety of baits – from naturals such as worms, leeches and live/deadbaits to pellets and boilies.

On venues which stock large carp alongside catfish, it’s common practice to fish mid-size boilies or pellets on a hair rig (usually popped-up or “Snowman-style”) on heavy gear – giving a good chance of tempting catfish or specimen carp. Our Catfish Pro baits are perfect for this style of fishing. They are available in a range of sizes from 12mm through to a much more selective 24mm “Donkey Choker” size and can be fished as singles or multiples on a hair. Nimrod is our flagship bait. Developed as a big fish bait to cater for carp, tench, barbel and chub, Nimrod has exceeded expectations in all fields but particularly with barbel.

During extensive trials our testers caught 100’s of double figure barbel from venues such as the Upper Severn, Hampshire Avon, Dorset Stour, Yorkshire Wharfe, Dove, Derbyshire Derwent and of course the Trent.

Without giving away all our secrets we can divulge the following ingredients: salmon meal, blended meat meals, various milk derivatives, selected spices and meat flavourings.

Based on the tremendous results achieved by young Dan Thorpe, targeting big barbel on the River Trent over the Winter period, we have now included Garlic to the Nimrod range. Garlic Nimrod certainly helps to put more barbel on the bank in less than favourable conditions.

Scopex Nimrod Products:

New to the Nimrod range are Scopex Nimrod, and Salmon Livers Nimrod. These baits are aimed more for the carp community as these are proven carp catching flavours. Adding them to our fantastic Nimrod range gives a complete rounded profile.

Spicy Meat Pro is a protein packed food bait that was hugely successful during over two years of trials, and even more successful since, accounting for several personal best captures of barbel to over 15 pounds.

As the name suggests the bait is really rich and meaty, infused with our highly attractive blend of oils and spices. In water the bait lets of a steady stream of attractants creating a haze around the bait that is particularly attractive to barbel, tench and carp.

Well what can you say about the humble worm as fishing bait that has not been said before… not much, we can tell you! Worms are simply brilliant as bait for a multitude of fish species and we thought we would incorporate the very essence of the worm into our new ‘Naturals’ range.

Worm Krill is an exciting new bait concept that has been put through its paces with some very encouraging results.

The base is a combination of meat and marine meals that have been blended with krill, another fantastic fish attractor. The dry ingredients are blended together using a mixture of egg and real worm extract and the worm carcasses help give the finished boilies structure and also help to disperse the real worm aroma. We have incorporated yeast with the worm extract so that the enzymes start to feed off each other making this a pre-digested food that is simply irresistible. The protein value of this food bait is absolutely tremendous and beneficial to the dietary requirements of the fish, add to that the natural aroma of the worm combined with the krill and yeast makes for a long term food source that will prove its worth in a sustained baiting campaign.

Now for all you predator anglers out there who like to do battle with big cats, we introduce Catfish Pro – our best catfish bait.

BIG in size and BIG in flavour, these baits are the result of over a year trialing at home as well as overseas with some very impressive results. Big fish man Chris Quinn took these with him to Thailand and caught some absolutely monstrous catfish and carp, some of which have never been caught on boilies.

Seriously fishy and seriously anti-social, so is best kept out of the house! This is the bait to attract the attentions of wary carp that have seen it all, or for attracting the attentions of chub and barbel in moving water.

This fish based product includes low temperature fish meals, salmon meal, anchovy, squid and butyric acid. The colour of the bait is a deep natural black/brown which is ideal for clear water or where carp are bombarded with brightly coloured baits. Squid and salmon oil are perfect partners for this tremendous bait and will retain its smell and attractive qualities, making it a highly effective long-term food bait source.

This particular bait has more recently been used very successfully by barbel and chub anglers with literally hundreds of double figure barbel and personal best chub ‘dogs’ falling to its amazing pulling power!
