Catfish angling is growing exponentially in popularity, as more and more venues stock cats, making them more accessible than ever before, to all anglers. Wels can be caught on a wide variety of baits – from naturals such as worms, leeches and live/deadbaits to pellets and boilies.
On venues which stock large carp alongside catfish, it’s common practice to fish mid-size boilies or pellets on a hair rig (usually popped-up or “Snowman-style”) on heavy gear – giving a good chance of tempting catfish or specimen carp.
