The Hook Bait Company was formed way back in 2001 when Darren McCann was targeting the very large and elusive chub of the River Severn in Mid Wales. 'River Secret' was the first commercially available boilie designed specifically for catching specimen chub, a mile stone in bait development. Today we have a complete range of twelve bespoke baits to cater for all the needs for today's thinking anglers with matching bait dips and pop-ups, pastes and ground baits to help you put more fish on the bank. All of our boilies are rolled fresh to order and are sent out frozen by Next Day courier. Payment by Paypal preferred. |
So, who are we? The Hook Bait Company is run by Darren McCann – a self confessed bait mechanic who prides himself on sourcing the very best ingredients for use in our baits. Darren served his apprenticeship in the Colne Valley with some notable captures of big carp from waters such as Horton, Pit 4 and Nutty Lane. In recent years he has discovered chub and barbel and the development of River Secret and more recently 3-B have helped him to amass a portfolio of some very big chub and barbel from around the UK. Although you may not have heard of us we have been developing and testing our range of baits over the last seven years, quietly in the background to see just how they work in different locations throughout the UK. Our team of consultants have been instrumental in the development and testing of our baits and we are now confident that our range of baits is right for you.
